Part two of my vacation last May was....NYC!!! :)  On day's 4-6 of my trip, Ericha, Jaime and I drove to NJ, then hopped aboard a train to NYC! EK!!! I had never been on a train before so I was super exited!!  We arrived at Penn Station and the CRAZINESS began!  It was like nothing I had ever experienced before.  Thank-goodness Ericha & Jaime had both been to NYC several times and knew what to do, where to go....I probably would have been tramped! LoL!!

Unfortunately the day we got to NYC it was raining so my camera stayed at the hotel where it was nice and dry.  I did take a ton of photos with my iPhone.  We were all excited (I think I was the most excited) to head out and get our days in NYC started!! :)  We started out by standing in a lineup to buy Broadway tickets, in the rain......let's just say we were DRENCHED!! LoL!!  But it was so worth it.  We spent the afternoon trying to dry off while we took in Annie.  Great show....great first Broadway experience!! :)  That first day wasn't too jam-packed, we were a little limited with what we could (or maybe wanted to do) because of the rain.....we did do a little bit of shopping (or window shopping) and then had a super delicious super at "Five Napkin Burger."

We started the next day off by going to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck (part of the Rockefeller Center).  That was probably one of my favorite spots, it was really neat seeing the city from up there.  Then we set out to explore the city on foot....we walked and walk and walk and then walked some more (not complaining, it was great)!!! After we had done our share of walking we hopped aboard a NYC Sightseeing Bus to see more of the city (you can only see so much in 3ish days, on foot).  Pretty much half of the photos in this post where taken while on that bus.  Fast shutter speed was a must! LoL!! :)  That evening we headed over to the Empire State Building....ummm.....honestly, not worth it!!  Yeah I got some great night shots there but that was after a super long wait (well over an hour, maybe even an hour and half) by the time we actually got up to the 86th and 102nd Floors.  It was a zoo.  Very unorganized compared to Top of the Rock where your tickets are time stamped and the time your ticket states you're going up, is when you go up. :(  Really unfortunate but oh well....I got to experience it! LoL!!  If there's a next time, I would rather go back to Top of the Rock at night! :)

On the final day in NYC, yup...only 3 short days (including travelling to and from NYC)....we walked down to the pier and hopped aboard a Sightseeing Cruise.  It was a VERY hot and humid day....hence the haze in all those photos. Loved that part of the trip as well.  It was super neat being out on the water, completely different was nice not being surrounded (or trapped) between all the buildings! LoL!! :)

I definitely got a nice little taste of the concrete jungle! :)  There were many other places I had heard of that I would have liked to have visited but it's all good, you can only see so much in that short amount of's definitely not at the top of my list of places to visit again, but who knows...maybe one day!! :)  All-in-all it was an amazing trip!! I had such an amazing time hanging out with Ericha and, so FUN!!! :)  Thanks girls...for spending your week with me, being my personal Philly tour guides and travel buddies to NYC!! :) Loved this trip!! :) ♥

The photo below was something I had completely forgotten about until I started sorting through all my photos.  I remember sitting aboard the bus when all I could see was a Bible verse written on this wall.  I quickly snapped this photo.  Well, when I came across this photo I decided to Google what it was.  Turns out it is Isaiah 2:4 "...they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore."  This wall is part of Ralph Bunche Park, it's right near the United Nations headquarters and the park was named after the first African-American to win the Nobel Peace Prize.  38 39 40 41 4243 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 61 62
